Healing the Mother Wound with Bethany Webster

Episode Summary

One of the most detrimental ways that patriarchy harms women is through our relationships, often in ways that we don’t even understand or have language for. This can be especially true for the relationship between mothers and daughters. On today’s episode Bethany Webster, author of “Discovering the Inner Mother,” talks to me about the “Mother Wound,” a social condition rooted in patriarchy, which manifests itself in the way we see ourselves, as well as in our experience with our culture, the way we view the Divine, and the way our species interacts with other planetary life. And, as Bethany explains, because the mother-daughter relationship is the first human relationship we experience, it can also be the introduction point for unhealthy patterns and coping strategies many women have adapted to survive under hostile circumstances. Bethany is a writer, international speaker, and transformational coach whose work is the result of decades of research and her own journey of healing. She speaks, consults and mentors around the world, sharing her growing body of work that is raising the standard of women’s leadership and personal development.
